National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University have introduced Office of Research and Development (ORD) since 1999 in order to scale up the industrialization of academic research achievements. ORD is promoting internal research programs and inter-disciplinary cooperation, as well as external collaborations with domestic and international partners. The ORD mission is aimed at linking education, research, hospital and community clinical practice and bio-tech industry. Organizational structure of ORD includes Planning and Administration Section, Project Management Section and Intellectual Property Rights and Technology Transfer Section, Research Service Center, Incubation Center and Instrumentation Resource Center. Research Service Center is in charge of 20 on-campus research centers specializing in various fields of biotechnology, biomedicine, clinical medicine and public health.
