Visit to Tohoku University in Japan to Promote Collaboration

President Chi-Hung Lin and Dean Shuu-Jiun Wang of the NYCU College of Medicine along with our other University leaders visited Tohoku University located in Sendai, Japan. They were warmly welcomed by President Tominaga of Tohoku University. The main purpose of the visit was to strengthen the collaboration between the two universities and extend the connection to Tohoku University Hospital. When visited Tohoku University, the NYCU delegation was hosted by Executive Vice President Harigae, and the visit included a variety of activities including group discussions, presentations and the tour. Dean Wang was briefed by Professors Endo and Niizume from the Department of Neurosurgery on advancements in neurosurgery, particularly highlighting Professor Suzuki’s breakthrough work on the discover Moyamoya disease. More importantly, the NYCU College of Medicine and Tohoku College of Medicine have signed a MOU to facilitate academic and educational exchanges between the two institutions. We are all looking forward to more frequent and in-depth interactions between students and faculty members between the two institutions.
